Those awesome snow boots are an early Christmas present. He was glad that he had them the last 4 days.
On Sunday we went to Brandon's Family Christmas Party in Payson. I decided that since we would be near stores that this would be a great opportunity for me to finish my Christmas shopping. I made arrangements for Brandon's parents to bring Brandon, Colby, and Paige back home to Fillmore after the party. Brandon's mom agreed to help Brandon with the kids on Monday before and after school , while he was at work. My mom watched Callie and Kyle on Monday. I was so excited to shop without any kids. I stayed Sunday night at my parents house and thought that I would head home sometime Monday afternoon. Well, when afternoon came I wasn't quite done shopping, and it was starting to snow. Brandon's mom called me and said that it was snowing hard in Fillmore and that maybe I should just stay in Orem, she agreed to help Brandon with the kids again. At about 8:00 p.m. on Monday Brandon got called out to work because their were some power outages. Brandon's mom come over and stayed with the kids. Neither one of us thought that he would be gone too long, boy were we wrong. She stayed all night. Fillmore got dumped on. There was a lot of snow and that made for a lot of power problems. I came home Monday afternoon and got stuck in the snow in my driveway (2 or 3 feet of snow). Brandon didn't come home after work on Tuesday. He worked again all through the night and morning. Two nights without any sleep working on high voltage power lines, makes me stress out. Brandon didn't come home until Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and went right to bed, so basically my poor husband worked 56 hours straight. He said they still had a lot to do, but they all needed sleep. He left again this morning at 7 a.m. and he is still gone. I sure hope that they get everything done before Christmas and I sure hope that their are no more big storms before or on Christmas. I really want him to be able to celebrate with us. We have lived in Fillmore for 7 years with the same job and Brandon has never had to work this many hours of overtime before. Hopefully they all stay safe.
On Tuesday, when I was in Orem, I took Callie to the Doctor because she had been so miserable. Last week she broke that thing (I have no idea what it is called) above her top two front teeth. It bled like crazy, but I learned that their wasn't much that you could do about it. She fell again on Sunday and did some more damage to her gums. She didn't want to eat and she didn't sleep well at my moms and she was super grumpy. I'm glad that I took her to the doctor the poor girl was pretty miserable. She had an ear infection, and her gums above her top two teeth were infected, and she had a million cold sores (Herpes) in her mouth. The doctor gave my 3 different prescriptions for her and said that she would probably feel better by Christmas. I am keeping my fingers crossed because she is still pretty grouchy. I'm so grateful for modern medicine and good doctors.
Sorry about the long post. Just wanted to remember this crazy week before Christmas 2010. I hope that my husband stays safe, gets home soon, and that my baby gets better soon.
